What is Skip Tracing?

Skip Tracing is locating the whereabouts of a person. The person that locates the individual is called a Skip Tracer. A Skip Tracer’s tactics are used for helping collect a debt, to locate a witness, attorneys and process servers.

A Skip Tracer gathers as much information on the subject and analyzes it to determine the whereabouts of the subject. We may use different databases to get this information such as credit reports, phone number databases, social security numbers and even Facebook. Skip Tracer’s will start making phone calls to help locate the subject, while some may even go to the location to confirm the location. With the information available online (mining social media and different databases) we can locate the subject, this is called cybertracking.
